Access Statement for Cromwell, Orton Hall
Introduction
Our self catering apartment is on the ground floor of a listed Jacobean Mansion. We have tried to provide you with as much information as possible to help you assess the suitability of Cromwell for your needs.
Pre-Arrival

• Bookings or enquiries can be made by via our contact form or our email link, by telephone 01539 623529, or through Lakes Cottage Holidays at www.lakescottageholiday.co.uk
• The 106 Penrith to Kendal Bus Service runs past the entrance to Orton Hall. The nearest stop is in the centre of Orton 500m away.
• The nearest railway stations are Oxenholme (16miles) and Penrith (17miles) both on the West Coast main line.
• The nearest disabled toilet is 500m away in the centre of Orton.
Arrival & Car Parking Facilities
• There is a car park outside the front of the building with allocated parking. The car park is gravelled, flat and even.
• Parking is 10m from the main entrance to Orton Hall.

Main Entrance, Reception & Ticketing Area
• The front door is accessed via 4 wide steps, each approximately 16cm high and 29cm deep. the front door is 94cm wide and is a heavy fire door with one additional step of 16cm height.The key hole to the door is at 104cm.
• The front door to Cromwell is situated to the right off the communal hall. The door is 90cm wide and the keyhole is at 159cm.
Public Areas - Hall, Stairs, Landing, Corridors etc
• The Great Hall provides a communal seated area with pool table and piano.

• The Great Hall is approached from the entrance hall by 10 wide, shallow (11cm) steps with rail to the right.

Public Areas - Sitting room, lounges, lobbies etc
• Dining and lounge room. The dining area is in a large bay window overlooking the garden. The oval table has two claw legs and is 74cm high with 4 chairs with padded seats and no arms.
• The flooring is oak with central rug.
• There is one double sofa and one easy chair, both armed.
• There is one area of clear space 1m by 1m.
• TV, CD and DVD are activated by remote controls.
Laundry
• Just to the left of the door to Cromwell is a door to the communal laundry with coin operated washing and drying facilities and additional w.c..
Bedrooms & Sleeping Areas
• The bedroom is approached from the lounge via a door 70cm wide.
• It is carpeted with a four poster double bed. This is 140cm wide and 60cm high from floor to top of mattress.
• Non feather duvets and pillows are provided.
• Sheets, duvet covers and pillow cases are cotton
• The bed has a 1.7m wide space to the left and 1.5m to the right.
• The largest space clear of furniture and door is 1.5m by 3.0m.
Bathroom, Shower-room & WC
• The bathroom is en suite to the bedroom. The doorway is immediately to the right on entering the bedroom.
• The door is 76cm wide.
• The bath height is 56cm.
• The toilet seat is 43cm high.
• The largest clear area in the bathroom is 70cm by 80cm.
• The floor is laminate.
Self-Catering Kitchen
• The kitchen is accessed from the dining area.
• the door is 76cm wide.
• The flooring is laminate.
• Oven door is drop down and lowest shelf is 40cm from the floor.
• The sink is 91cm with cupboards underneath.
• The hob is halogen at a height of 91cm
• The fridge has a small freezer. The highest shelf is 46cm.
Grounds and Gardens
• Over six areas of communal gardens and woodland with accessible seating.
• A small stream runs through the gardens and there is a central pond.
• The front lawns are level but the woodland area to the rear is steep in parts.
Additional Information
• Information folder is available with instructions in case of fire.
• Good mobile phone reception
• No fixed phone.
• Public phone box is 500m away in the centre of Orton.
• The apartment, along with all of Orton Hall and grounds is non-smoking.
• No visitor pets are allowed.
